Style Report: Lululemon, Egan Day, Vintique & Odi

By ASHLEY PRIMIS

Some great news on the Lululemon store-search front: After teasing us with a second-floor showroom for about a year, they have finally landed on 1527 Walnut Street as their official retail location. We adore their comfy, well-fitting and status-label-for-the-fit-set apparel. Oh, and check out this link on their website, where Philly’s own Gavin McKay from Fusion is modeling the gear. Look for the opening this fall.

A cool store called Egan Day opened yesterday on 16th between Spruce and Latimer. It’s most easily described as a jewelry store that carries really classy, but not dowdy or pretentious, fine jewelry from a host of designers. (If you know any of them: Ted Muehling, Gabriella Kiss, Maria Beaulieu and Jonathan Wahl.) But the store itself is a piece of art, housed in an old townhouse with beautiful furnishings to display their goods (like Philly artist Sarah Zwerling’s glass branches that hold earrings). There’s also really nice gifts/home stuff, like Ted Muehling’s vases for Nypmhenburg and Steuben, porcelain and painted glass, respectively.

Last night I headed to a press and buyer reception at Showroom 77 (this super cool, NYC-like designer showroom) for Vintique & Odi, a line I just adore from two Philly-born (gorgeous) sisters. Good news is that they are opening up Showroom 77 to the public so you can see it (and all the other cool stuff that’s there) tonight and Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at noon. I featured Vintique & Odi when I wrote for Lucky, and their stuff has also been on The Tyra Banks Show. Seeing their collection get stronger and stronger each year is exciting — examples to the right.
