This summer, retail reemerged. An Apple store opened on Walnut. Paper Source came to Suburban Square. And cult-followed, celebrity--frequented, stylist-coveted e-tailer Three Potato Four, formerly located in Virginia, quietly launched its first-ever bricks-and-mortar shop in an old wool mill in Manayunk. The 1,500-square-foot store - open Fridays, Saturdays and by appointment, for now - stocks accessories and furnishings old and new, such as a century-old, seven-foot-tall shirt case, repro postal bags, and dozens of vintage containers and signs. That owners Stu Eli and Janet Morales, both formerly of the graphic-design industry, chose to locate their three-year-old venture here is a big deal - to us. To them, however, “It was a really easy decision, once we thought about it for a few minutes,” says Eli. “We’ve always loved Philly.”
