It would seem Lexus’s new self-parking option was made for parking-obsessed Philadelphians. The feature is mind-boggling: You follow instructions on a massive GPS screen, lift your foot off the gas, and watch the wheel mysteriously turn until you’re perfectly sandwiched between two cars and within an inch of the curb. But the gimmick is also finicky — unless the road is perfectly flat, the Parking Powers get cranky and deactivate. What sold us more on the LS 460 was its performance in drive: Whether you’re cruising Spruce’s potholes or weaving through 76’s merging lanes, this big, badass baby simply sails.

Lexus LS 460, from $61,000; all optional features — including the $4,315 package with self-parking — extra; see lexus.com.
