Style Report: QVC Has a Sale, Lululemon Opens, Head Area's New Home

QVC in West Chester (yes, the shop-at-home HQ) is having an in-studio sale all weekend that will benefit a few charities. Get clothing, accessories, beauty products, bags and shoes from the likes of BCBGirls, Cole Haan, Lacoste and Theory at deep discounts — nothing’s over $100. We have to admit, just being in the studio sounds dork-ily exciting. See you there.

It’s that time of year for local textile company Galbraith & Paul’s sample sale. Stop by their studio for thier pillows, lamps, fabric and rugs reduced by up to 50 percent, as well as goods from their artsy friends. 12/6, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; 12/7, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Near City Line Ave on Sunday? Stop by Saks (like we needed to twist your arm) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for Mimosas & Makeup, which benefits the Junior League of Philadelphia and all their do-good habits. Get makeup advice and mini-makeovers from the experts at Chanel, Armani, Laura Mercier and Nars (to name a few). It costs $40 in advance or $45 at the door, but you get and goodie bag and a $20 Saks gift card and drinks on a Sunday. Get tickets at jlphiladelphia.org.

Lululemon on Walnut Street opened over Thanksgiving weekend. It’s pretty inside and packed with pulled together workout (or for, ahm, some of us, lounge-around) clothing for guys and girls. Check out our December issue for our Holiday Gift Guide. Lolita owners, Michelle and Jill picked out some cute stuff from the store for their holiday wish-list.

Head Area Salon, which used to be housed in the back of Matthew Izzo Lifestyle, has moved to their own location in Washington Square West. They still offer the same kick-ass cuts and color.

There’s lots of Christmas stuff going on to get you in the spirit. Chestnut Hill is having their Stag & Doe Nights on Wednesdays the 3rd, 10th and 17th. Apparently, it’s a tradition that began in the 60s, where shops would stay open late so men could buy gifts for their wives. The Mad Men mentality might have passed, but we all get to benefit. Lots of the stores will not only stay open till 9 p.m., but offer free gift wrapping and nibbles.

Standard Tap — yes, the beloved NoLib bar — is hosting an annual craft sale on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Peruse crafts by 16 local artists, while ordering great food and beer.

Need some you time during all this holiday drama? On the Spot Wellness is a new spa in the Queen Village Sweat Gym. Owner/operator Tiffany Young is offering 60-minute massages for $50 through the end of January.
