Style Report: Mad Props For a Local Designer; Jack Kellmer Says Adios

By Ashley Primis

We were psyched to receive the news that Francesca Sloan, designer of local line Babooshka, has returned to Philly after some time in Pittsburgh. See her latest collection at Love Illuminati on Saturday from 12 P.M. to 5 p.m. and save 20 percent on all her designs. And a big Congrats to Francesca for having her line picked up by stores in Europe and for being featured in a spring feature in Elle Magazine.

As far as holiday shopping incentives go, this might win the award for most creative (and possibly most useful): When you purchase $500 or more in jewelry from David Jay Jewelers, they’ll give you $500 in grocery money. Literally. After making your purchase online or in the store, you’ll get a certificate valid for enrollment at freegrocerycenter.com, where you can find your preferred supermarket and redeem your gift cards. Runs through Christmas Day. Spoiler Alert: Log onto their website to get more details and a pretty sweet coupon you can print out.

In other, sadder, jewelry news, you’d have to be living under a rock to not know that Jack Kellmer is going out of business. Catch the finals days of the 70 PERCENT OFF!!! EVERYTHING MUST GO!!! Sale at both the Philly and Haverford locations. After icing-us out for over 70 years, we are sad to say goodbye.
