Skirt Alert

Bryn Mawr's one-stop style shop expands

The Technicolor shop from 1964's Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (you know, Catherine Deneuve's first movie, where she sings, dances, and — spoiler alert — marries the jeweler) used to be my ultimate paradise. The wallpaper. The hairdos. The parapluies. But now that Skirt has moved from its original location to a four-times-larger, Hollywood Regency-ish space designed by Chestnut Hill's Mona Ross Berman, well, I realize I've been wrong all these years. My ultimate paradise sells Tory Burch ballet flats, AG "The Stilt" jeans and Rebecca Taylor suits — plus the usual complement of Nanette Lepore, Chaiken and Milly — not umbrellas. Duh.

931 Lancaster Avenue, Bryn Mawr, 610-520-0222.
