At Your Service

For all the effort you put into buying perfect gifts, make sure they actually get to faraway friends on time. Here, some tips from Ken Alan, corporate concierge for BPG Properties.

THINK OUTSIDE THE (P.O.) BOX
The post office isn’t the only place that ships. The UPS Store has a location at 1735 Market Street, and DHL ships from 1500 Market Street.

AVOID THE LUNCH CRUNCH
If midday lines are running long, make an evening trip to Staples in Riverview Plaza, at 1300 Columbus Boulevard — it’s open till 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

DON’T DISAPPOINT
Even if you wait until the last minute — again — to shop, you can still ship gifts on Christmas Day. For tri-state deliveries, go with Heaven Sent Worldwide Courier (215-545-9100). For anywhere else in the Continental U.S., Shannon Transport (800-969-2252) will do the job.
