Shopping: Grand Openings

New shops in your neighborhood

By Carrie Denny

Age of Content
The ever-antique-obsessed Main Line can now get its fix of eclectic period furnishings, French chateau shutters and shoulder-high candle pedestals at Lisa Schwartz’s elegant domain, where she doesn’t just sell these cute early-20th-century American cuckoo clocks — she tells their stories, too. Also look for: chess sets made from vintage car parts.

118 East Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, 484-580-8462.

Hunting and Gatherings
This itty-bitty den of cozy along the indoor promenade of Bucks County’s newish Main Street Marketplace stocks local Carousel Farm Lavender candles, fair trade BabyMo throws, vintage decanters, pewter antler candelabras and Clos du Manoir dinnerware. They offer interior design services, too.

22 South Main Street, Doylestown, 215-345-9363, huntingandgatherings.com.

Calderwood2
North Broad gets its very first chic shelter store in Gary, Janet, and son Chris Calderwood’s venture past French Art Deco—straight through to the late 20th century. The family’s 3,500-square-foot warehouse will stock rare and iconic pieces from Pierre Cardin, Milo Baughman and more — everything dating from the ’60s through the ’80s.

631 North Broad Street (slated to open in March). Call 215-546-5357 for info.

Audrey Shinn Interiors
Well-loved South Jersey interior designer Audrey Shinn has amassed a collection of Euro-inspired, pretty-but-not-too-frilly pieces in a mini-boutique setup that shares space with a lingerie shop and tea room. Look for: marble coasters, Michel Design Works stationery, and zebra-patterned footstools.

The Shoppes at Rizzieri, Rt. 73 and Greentree Road, Marlton, 856-988-6707.
