Restaurateur Lynn Rinaldi has seen this stretch of Passyunk Ave in South Philly turn over to a hipper set that’s ready for a sleek sushi spot in their traditionally Italian-focused ’hood. I've been to Izumi twice now and both times I had a pretty pleasant experience. I have had both the sashimi and a couple of the speciality rolls. My wife and I enjoyed the experience both times. The izumi roll is very good as well. I would forgo the dessert, as it wasn't all that great. But it's a fantastic addition to a neighborhood filled with great BYO's but not much diversity of food.
