Inside, a jukebox plays the latest Latino pop tunes, and the Spanish-speaking waitstaff gently points newcomers to house specialties: fried green plantains, marinated octopus, platters piled high with yellow rice, pinto beans, steak, arepas (Colombian corn patties), avocado, thick slices of maduros (sweet plantains)—and fried eggs. Though the selection of tropical fruit smoothies is tempting, the giant pitchers of fruity sangria do a better job of washing down these seriously huge meals.
