Profile

There's nothing fancy about the moist, taste-of-childhood cakes that New Jersey's Sweet Eats turns out by the hundreds — until they layer those plain rounds with rich Bavarian cream. There are more than 30 varieties — from fresh mango to traditional white chocolate — and the bakery can create a cake that feeds up to 70 (with a week's notice).

I've been buying cakes from sweet eats for 15 years because they have the best. However I have been mad with their service and atitudes the last six years. In the olden days when they were just word of mouth, the owners would go out of their way make what ever you requested... In recent years they would not even do something as simple as ice my four year olds cake with pink icing! The next year I ordered a sheet cake and per my daughters request, I asked to have strawberries placed on the sides, they refused saying it won't go well with the butter cream. I am the customer, if I asked for meatballs I should get it!

we went to the store on thursday to pickup a cake for my birthday. thanks to their 'limited' selection, we had to special order the cake to be picked the next day (it's available on their menu). mind you, there were 8 people staring, wondering how to actually place an order, since the teens behind the counter didn't seem to care too much. we were told we could pick up after 2pm the next day and had to give them a time. we said 3pm, and even prepaid so all we would have to do is walk in, get the cake and go. but no. today, they had the numbered tickets out, and when i asked a girl at the counter if i could just pick up the cake i'd already prepaid for, she said no. the parking lot was a mess, the service was a mess. good cake or not, this place is not worth the aggravation. i wish there was a zero rating.

I have ordered many, many cakes from Sweet Eats over the years and I'm about to order yet another for my husband's 50th birthday. I have never had one complaint and that keeps me going back!

I just wanted to post something positive about Sweet Eats Bakery in Somerdale, NJ. We have been getting cakes from them for years now and they have the BEST tasting cakes and frostings EVER! I could not believe the negative posts that I read on here. For those of you who were disappointed, try it again, I think you will be very very happy. thanks.

A coworker bought this cake for my birthday and everyone absolutely loved it. He chose white and dark chocolate cream in yellow cake with fudge icing. The doctor we work with is actually going there tonight to pick up a birthday cake for his daughter. I can't wait for a reason to try another cake with one of the many different fillings offered.

I ordered a vanilla cake with raspberry filling and after much back and forth they finally found my cake, misspelled name. wrong design and wrong filling—and we were charged twice. We prepaid but they swore we had not so I had to pay again. AND have still not received my credit, I would never go back or recommend this business

I bought a birthday cake at Sweet Eats Bakery in Somerdale NJ. I ordered a chocolate cake over a week before the party. Just as the birthday girl cut the cake she discovered it was infact vanilla. This family does not eat vanilla. The cake was brought back to Somerdale. The staff offered a gift certificate but no money back. I spoke to the owners saying I do not wish to do business with the bakery being that the mistake was made. There was no apologizing from the owners. I explained that yes some pieces were taken from the cake due to the fact that we were at a birthday party. They blamed their staff for the mistake and claimed at least the writing was right! They also claimed that their mistake of a vanilla cake when chocolate was requested was NO BIG DEAL. Needless to say they have lost our family's business.
