Open breakfast through late night, this more-than-a-café café is a great spot to begin (or end) a day of serious Pier shopping. Breakfast standouts include roasted-banana and chocolate-chip French toast (like bananas Foster minus the pyrotechnics), buttermilk pancakes with fresh berries and crème fraîche (deserving of its own Wikipedia entry), and La Colombe coffee—if you have to ask. Lunch and dinner are all over the map: In midday, nibble a classic Cobb, Asian tuna tartare, brick-oven pizzas, or lobster rolls. Later on, have lunch again, or sink into a big, soft leather booth for a Rouge-ish burger or a Brasserie-esque steak, ham-flecked clam chowder or butternut squash with crabmeat, basic spaghetti or Chilean sea bass. Even later: Head to the nicely sized bar with a serious sound system for a glass of pinot—or, why not?—a bottle of the stuff.
From invigorating fitness classes, to educational seminars, to spa treatments, Philadelphia magazine's exhilarating all-day event for women will leave you feeling motivated, educated, and fit.
