Though this old fashioned train car diner has a long history in the neighborhood (originally installed next to a cocktail lounge at 5th and Spring Garden in 1954), in 2006 it was bought by NoLibs operator Mark Bee, completely refurbished and turned into a kind of retro-cool diner-slash-lounge for the hip and the hungry. While the kitchen stayed (mostly) true to its diner roots (it stills serves ribs and meatloaf, but also edamame appetizers and Asian-spiced tuna burgers), those classic shakes and malts of yesteryear have now been replaced by cocktails and a big beer garden for the warmer months.
