Profile

Family-owned and -operated since 1977, Sam's bakes its own bread, tomato pies, stromboli and cannoli in-house, and serves a wide array of hoagies and party trays of Italian prepared foods -- think pasta primavera and manicotti -- to-go for crowds of five or 50.

I grew up going to Sam's and still look forward to shopping there and eating their bread, cheeses, italian chacuterie when I visit my parents who still live in the area. The service is always first rate and the food fresh, authentic and a great value.

Great hoagies, lunch meat, tomato pie, strombolis, ravioli, bread, and a million others! My family has been going to the Willow Grove location forever and their quality and service are unmatched, and at very reasonable prices.

I grew up with Sam's. I still hate eating spaghetti when it's not their sauce and meatballs. Don't even get me started on the bread. You CANNOT find better bread anywhere in the area- period!! The Mele family is great, the whole staff is great. I think I'll go buy a quart of their homemade pasta fagioli now.......

From the moment you walk through the door there is an assault on your senses. There is nothing like the smell of fresh baked bread and fresh Deli meats! Just pick up a loaf of bread and give it a little squeeze, you'll know it's Sam's by the wonderful crust! The store is a delight to walk through and just browse through the aisles finding gems that come from far away. The sounds of laughter and greetings of old neighborhood friends. Everything in the store tastes amazing! LOVE SAM's!

They are the best! From the owners to the workers! Their bread is amazing, their meats, cheeses, desserts, all of it. I shop there a few times a week, even buy their produce. Everything is fresh and quality!

We lived in the Olney section of Philadelphia across from Sam's at Mascher & Chew Streets when they first opened. Their Italian food was homemade and good then. We all moved but I still go to Sam'sin Willow Grove for their sauce, stromboli and ravioli.

I live about two hours away from Sam's. Whenever I'm in the area, though, one of my first stops is always here. Why? The tomato sauce! I usually store around 5 containers of it in my freezer to hold me over until my next visit. Also, the tomato pie is great.

I moved to Florida, but when I come home to Philly, I make it a point to visit the Market to full up on all the traditional Italian Specialty Sams offers that I cannot get in Florida
