We’re always waiting for cool stuff to happen in Chinatown, so when we heard about a South Jersey Korean barbecue joint getting an outpost on Race, we were all ears. Unfortunately, this place wasn’t worth the wait. For starters, they don’t have those fun tabletop grills. (Korean is one gasto-genre where we don’t mind cooking our own meat.) If they did, we couldn’t have blamed them for problem number two: beef ribs that tasted undercooked (and not at all spicy) and chicken that was dry and nearly tasteless. The accompanying banchan dishes seemed limp and not particularly fresh, and a visit to the bathroom indicated why: We encountered a giant rack of the tiny appetizers stored in the open air, directly next to the door to the (dirty) men’s room. Three strikes is enough. We’ll see you in Olney, in Upper Darby or at Miga. Just not here.
