This place looks like a dump—the kind of joint you’d walk into and say, “There’s no way I’m eating here.” But you’d be doing yourself a great disservice, because New Azaad Foods has been quietly serving some of the best (and cheapest) veg and non-veg Indian food in the region for the past seven years. All the entrées I tried were spot-on and spicy, the best being the goat biryani, chicken tikka and chana masala. And with five main dishes at no more than $8.50, plus ample rice, yogurt and pickle, it’s a detour well worth taking.
