If it’s the reality of A.C. a few years ago you’re after, you’ll find it at the top of Caesars’ red staircase. Nero’s competing decor—busy carpeting, busy wallpaper—contributes to its dated vibe; the service, though, couldn’t be more accommodating. The steakhouse-inspired dishes—grilled asparagus, shrimp cocktail, and heavily sauced veal chops—are respectable. Still, the chairs on wheels gotta go—and, with places like Gallagher’s, the Palm and Morton’s nearby, you’ll want to check around before settling.
