Behind Margaret Kuo’s grandly pillared facade are two distinct restaurants—one Chinese, one Japanese. On the upper level, the Akari Room is a clean-lined triumph of Japanese design and carpentry, with an inviting sushi bar, cozy booths, and two tatami rooms.
