Here, fine dining is reinvented with daring ingredients and unorthodox cooking techniques (charcoal sauce of abalone), but the chef never loses sight of the clientele. Diners also the option of exquisitely prepared, accessible dishes like scallops with sun-dried tomato jam. Best, the tasting menu has no rules; it can be anyone or everyone, and three, four or five courses.

We have had a few wonderful meals at Lacroix. Enough so that I booked a holiday business luncheon for 10. The entire lunch was changed without any input from me and I was given no choice.

My husband and I went to Lacroix for brunch on Christmas morning. It was excellent. The coffee was superb, the omlets were excellent, and you just can't beat the view of the park!
