A couple of months ago, waiting in line at the Inlet was as inevitable as getting stuck in traffic at the Egg Harbor tolls. It was summer, and the primo location atop Great Egg Harbor Bay, with proximity to dry Ocean City, plus the vibe—cozy enough for a romantic date, ample enough for a family reunion—made for a perfect dining storm. Didn’t hurt that the seashore-fancy, slightly exotic menu does right by its meaty, puck-size crabcake, coconut-touched white rice, short-rib sliders, and crowd-pleasing grilled fish and meats. It’s food you’ve had before. But trust us: This time of year, just getting an easy opportunity to dine here seems delicious.
