Unfussy preparations focus on the juxtaposition of delicate flavors—sweet Anjou pears meet organic blue cheese in a salad, wild-caught bass is simply dressed with lemon and herbs. The seasonally changing menu couldn’t better match this romantically remote location, in a white house dating to 1710 that has English countryside-like gardens and an eclectic interior.

Me & my friends used to be regulars at Gracie's years ago. It always had a fun, avant garde, quirky vibe and the bar area was a blast. While the food was always expensive, it was great, as well as the service. All that sadly has changed in recent years. The last 2 times did me in. We witnessed actual fights between customers and Gracie's staff over the long wait and horrendous service. Plus they don't give you any bread or anything else to compensate in between the torturous waits for food. We were told the bread is freshly baked and is "part of the experience"...how pretentious! Sorry, I'd rather eat then be part of an experience. NEVER PATRONIZE THIS JOKE OF A RESTAURANT, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Posted by Gary: Feb. February 12th, 2011 at 8:27 AM

Do not go to this restuarant. You pay an exorbinant amount of money and the food is cold and it takes forever to get to you. The other people next to you are loud and it has become a terrible place to go. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Posted by lowi: Jan. January 22nd, 2011 at 8:40 PM

Gracie's is one of my favorites. The service is always friendly, including Gracie coming out of the kitchen to scmooze. I always look forward to the creative changes to the menu. I never leave hungry! Posted by don: Nov. November 23rd, 2010 at 11:33 AM

After all I've heard about Gracies...we were totally disappointed with the food and the service. After the appetizer...it was downhill like a sled on ice. My filet was tough, stringy and had a 'off' woodsmoke taste--I couldn't eat it. Despite having few diners..the meal took forever. None of the food was hot and there was a lack of seasoning on the mashed potatoes. Even the asparagus was banal. I got the wrong dessert and the coffee was so strong and bitter that I left it after taking one sip. The food was poorly seasoned. Save your money...eat somewhere else. Posted by Margie: Nov. My wife and I just returned from Gracie's, where we had dinner on New Year's Eve. I had read many rave reviews and we thought we'd give this place a try. We arrived at 7:30. We didn't receive our appetizers until 9:00. Our entrees didn't arrive at our table until 10:00. By the time dinner hit the table we were so tired of waiting that we asked the waitress to package our entrees as well as our desserts to go. We finally left at 10:30. Three hours for two people to eat dinner is ridiculous. Then they have the nerve to tack on a 20% gratuity to the bill, which is a disgrace for that kind of poor service. The food was good, but by the time it was served we'd lost our appetites. Won't be going back, ever. Posted by Tom: Dec. December 31st, 2009 at 11:38 PM
