Yeah, we know what you’re thinking: Manayunk? I’m not going to friggin’ Manayunk. We stopped going there, too, way back in the ’90s. But now there’s a (very) good reason to return: Clark Gilbert’s new two-story restaurant, Gemelli On Main. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Gilbert opened his original Gemelli in Narberth in 2009 as a BYO. In moving to Manayunk, he picks up a full bar, but sticks with the same French-inspired Italian cuisine that made him such a huge hit with the Narberth townies. Right now, the kitchen’s lamb Bolognese and pork cheek polenta could probably turn the neighborhood’s reputation around singlehandedly.
