There aren’t many places like this one in town, places where you can bring the kids (by boat, even), where you can sit down to a nice, traditional, no-fuss seafood dinner (or a grilled cheese and chicken tenders for Junior) on the lagoon. Open April through December, this 300-seat Gardner’s Basin veteran decorates with old buoys, is steps from the Atlantic City Aquarium, and serves cold Coronas. It also proclaims its crabcake the best in town (although the lobster tail with baked potato isn’t too shabby, either), and offers a pair of bars for extra casual drinking and dining. Last summer, they introduced a tuna carpaccio appetizer—but we’re just as happy with their clams on the half shell and fried oyster platter.

We go to Atlantic City several times during the summer, and this is our favorite place to eat. The food, atmosphere and service are #1. What's better than having a great dinner, a glass of wine and watching he sunset over the bay! Can't wait to go back. Posted by kathy: Jul. July 27th, 2010 at 7:17 AM
