RESTAURANT LISTINGS |
As night falls at the new location of Mike Stollenwerk’s Fish, the whitewashed walls and shiny subway tiles of the inviting raw bar give way to the dark woods and sexy shadows of table seating. Stollenwerk has moved his seafood-centric- restaurant to 13th and Locust—right in the mix of Philadelphia’s new restaurant row—and the decor is a marked improvement from his Lombard Street digs. But it isn’t style over substance in the new location. Stollenwerk, who came to fame working out of postage-stamp-sized Little Fish, is still showing off his acumen with sea creatures large and small. His gnudi with tiny Maine shrimp is a delightful mid-course. The skate with spaetzle is still a must-have. And with the addition of 10 Arts pastry chef Monica Glass, the wise diner will know to save room for dessert.
