When you’re a beer bar or a gastropub in a region that’s already so full of both, the best thing you can be is surprising. The worst thing you can be? Hell-and-gone out in Limerick, I guess, which means that if, like the Craft Ale House, you are located in the far-flung ’burbs, you have to be that much more surprising (and that much better than the competition) to even register on the radar. Fortunately, Craft Ale House is that good. Forget the killer fish and chips, the beer-inspired bowls of mussels or the duck rillette salad with IPA-soaked cranberries and hot pepper jelly. This place does the hands-down best chicken fingers ever: buttermilk-marinated chicken breast pieces, breaded and fried like great fried chicken, then served with harissa chili and honey-chipotle sauces. Oh, and the beer? Yeah, how ’bout 16 taps, 300 labels in stock, and a 20 percent discount for takeout six-packs from the coolers?

In the burbs it's not easy to find great food, and great beer, and definitely not under the same roof! This place definitely shines brightly for foodies and beer lovers alike. Complete from-scratch kitchen, and the largest beer selection outside of Philly. The place is too good, and unfortunately too small with only 13 tables + 15 seat bar. Friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff. Sadly, the PM bartender & owners should consider taking more time off, they are always on the floor, definitely looking & acting worn out. Probably explains the condescending attitudes they give patrons and employees..

This is the go to place if you want consistently great food. We have never been disappointed in the food or service. The reason for the wait is obvious; from appetizer, sandwiches, to entrees you will always find something delicious. It is a microbrew haven.

I used to live up the road, went here often enough. I really do enjoy the beer selection, though I wouldn't call it unique to the area, having Lucky Lab and Union Jacks nearby. Generally, I find the food to be average, generally too salty. I'd maybe take a date during the week, but not the weekend, way too busy, not enough seating, wait is too long. As for owner/mamager comments, I've talked to them, they're nice enough, but I could understand another point of view. The service is generally reasonable, food comes slowly on the weekends.

I don't know what's up the butts of the previous reviewers, because Gary and Melissa certainly are not self-absorbed, arrogant, condescending, egotistical or any other negative word you can think of. They and the rest of the staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

I can not believe someone would term the owners and management as self-absorbed and arrogant!!! I have been a frequent visitor since Day 1 and always find Gary, Melissa and all the staff warm and welcoming and quick to join in conversation. The 2 reviews of Craft Ale while accurately painting the food do zero justice to the great social environment.

I agree the food is generally top notch and the beer selection is second to none. The previous reviewer had it spot on... Arrogance or more accurately self absorbed. The owners don't have a clue on the social side of running a business.

As I sit here writing this review I am in fact eating a terrific grass fed burger with cheddar, caramelized onions and bacon from Craft ale house. Everything I haver eaten from Craft has been very good. The Chicken fingers are top notch and the burgers are off the hook delicious. I truly appreciate the effort to be eco friendly from the grass fed meats to the eco take out packaging. One pet peeve. I called this past friday to order take out and was told they don't do take out on friday and saturday nights? What? You are going to refuse business? It seems a little condescending and egotistical to me. Now listen I am a previous restaurant owner, so I know the pressures of the weekend onslaught but would never dream of refusing an order for take out, it takes less effort for the staff to do take out than dine in and quite frankly if they had more seating I wouldn't be getting take out 3/4 of the times I eat from there and I do not live that close to craft I am about 20 minutes away but would rather get takeout to avoid the overcrowded restaurant and bar. It is very lacking in seating. Otherwise it is definitely a place to be tried and enjoyed.
