Profile

We can get so caught up in froufrou and foie gras that finding the completely unassuming, inexpensive and family-friendly Clam Tavern — once we figured out where Clifton Heights is — was a relief. It's fish. Lots of fish. Flying Fish on tap. Stuffed fish on the walls. Life fish in a huge tank. And, oh yeah, great fish on the plates. We keep going back for the buttery baked clams, served on one-of-a-kind custom steel plates, and the friend shrimp platter.

We went there often years ago and loved it. For many reasons having nothing to do with the restaurant, we were away for a lot of years. That was our loss. We went back recently and it was every bit as good as we remembered. We are regular customers again.

I have been one of the "regulars" at the Clam Tavern in Clifton Heights, PA for many years now. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal or a bad experience at the Clam. The food is ALWAYS fresh, cooked well, and with flavorful taste. The atmosphere is very laid-back and family friendly. The staff are not only good at what they do, they actually care about me as a person. For good food, good drinks, and good fun, visit The Clam today. Tell Tony I sent you!
