The ChopHouse, from the owners of the pub chain P.J. Whelihan's, is a welcome departure from the steakhouse chains that have long strangled Philadelphia. This isn't another clichéd rendition of heavy steaks, wine and wood paneling. The level of quality makes the typical steakhouse prices easier to swallow.

Two bad meals in a row for me; one during the week another on a less than filled weekend night. Seems like the bean counters have taken over and the staff going through the motions. Off my list.

Don't know what happen, but something has changed with The ChopHouse. The quality of the food was disappointing. Steak tough, food was on the cold side. We ordered a potato disk, and it look and taste like it came from a frozen box. The music was very loud, and they played alot rock music, not my choice for dinner. To bad, The ChopHouse was best restaurant this side of NJ.
