I'll be the first to admit I was suspect about dining in Riverside. But we had a table for 4, and what a great meal and overall experience. As good as anything you'll get in the city. Quite beautiful spot inside also (although a touch too dark, maybe). Spot on service, courses fired and delivered perfectly and spectacular drinks. All that we could ask for. Go, but trust me and go early!

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. We have been to this restaurant many times and have brought or recommended it to many people. But our experience last night was very disappointing. My dinner partner ordered a Caesar Salad to go with his dinner. Since a Caesar Salad should come with anchovies and Cafe Madison does not serve theirs with anchovies he asked for them to be added. When the bill arrived we had been charged an additional $4 for 4 anchovies. At no time did our server tell us there would be an additional charge for something that should have traditionally come with a Caesar Salad. As always the food was outstanding and the atmosphere was charming, but we were extremely disappointed with the restaurant when we left. We may not be back again for quite a while.

Have dined at cafe madison at least ten times in the past three years. They have the best fish & seafood entrees.Reviewer questioning orange scallops should know that an orange scallop is a female scallop and many people are not familiar with them.In my interaction I have found them to be genuine and caring about each guest. Maybe you should tell them of your experience, I am sure they would be quick to respond to you, they are all about customer service that how they won over me and my husband.

Kudos to the chef for a truly delicious meal. I found the menu to be creative. Enjoyed the dancing and the service was very attentive in the bar as well as in the dining room. Looking forward to returning and celebrating my husbands birthday next month.

On 1/29/11 we went to Cafe Madison and were very disappointed. The rolls had frozen centers were sent back- the new ones were only cold in the center, the lobster bisque smelled "fishy", and the scallops with risotta smelled even more "fishy". The scallops were orange- don't know why but they smelled up my refrigerator too. I was very disappointed!!! What do you do when your food "smells"?

The most dramatic and most memorable New Years Eve in years. Jaw dropping holiday decor in a romantic and elegant setting. Delicious white glove appetizers complimented a Four Course Delightful Dinner with Superb Entertainment and Dancing.
A memorable experience.

For our "date" my dancing partner suggested Cafe Madison; he guaranteed an unforgettable experience. I asked in Phila.? He said, "No Riverside as in NJ. We can dine and then dance on a real dance floor. How could a sophisticated cafe with A. C. casino ambiance exist in Riverside? I found out. As we waited bar side for a table, a violin and piano duo play nearby. The wait was worth it. The cuisine was excellent: for a starter, we shared a crab and shrimp appetizer, for entrees, it was bronzini for me and salmon with a shrimp and crab risotto for him---all subtly flavored as well as creatively presented (apparently the chef had worked in a A C casino); for dessert, we eschewed the more complex choices and shared the house-made cheese cake. About 9 p.m. a trio with vocalist appeared and took over. And did they--keeping a strong beat while playing diverse music from different decades. We sang along with the vocalist and danced until the band was ready for bed. On the way home, Jim held my gloved hand--and softly sang, "What are you doing New Year's Eve?"...A perfect evening.

I was blown away that a restaurant in Riverside NJ could offer so much! Dynamic Food, Spectacular atmosphere. They have 3 waterfalls. The crowd was perfect and entertainment was amazing. Feels like a real supper club. You will have an amazing time.
You feel like your on vacation just over the bridge. We had the Bacon and Eggs Appetizer. It was a special. Something the Chef was in a cooking competition for. He's got my vote! My Entree was Filet with Lobster Mac and Cheese. All cooked to perfection. You must try the Ultimat Martini with Blue Cheese olives and stay for dancing. What a night!
We will be back and tell all our friends. You need to make a reservation, since it fills up fast, but everyone was hospital and they have a martini bar incase you have to wait.

My wife and I stopped at this much talked about establishment with high hopes. At first, we were both very impressed with the decor but soon realized the staff did not equal the ambiance. We certainly don't mind being patient but when we had to wait for 3 out of the 4 rounds of drinks that we ordered due to the blonde bartender chatting to her coworkers instead of her watching the mostly empty bar, we were more than a little turned off. The food was good/fair but was rather over priced. Our advice, take the drive to center city if you're looking for a classy night out. This establishment does not live up to the hype.

A very unique restaurant from the dramatic decor to the outstanding entertainment. It has the feel of an old supper club but with a modern twist. We really felt like we had been "out" when we dined there. Can't wait to return!

This restaurant's building was apparantley an old warehouse, and the management has very cleverly created an unusual and appealing ambiance without losing the "warehouse" look.
We found the food to be excellent, and the service quite good.

Do yourself a favor and don't bother. The food is average, and the romantic ambiance belies the overall attitude of the staff, which is anything but refined. Uncouth and belligerent on the bar side, clueless and shiftless on the "Cafe Madison" side. Never again.
