Repeat after us: Pineapple cupcakes. Coconut cream pound cake. Double-chocolate peanut butter cookies. Liberties Walk. Never heard of this last one? It’s the quietly emerging retail center just north of the Standard Tap on 2nd Street—a groovy pedestrian strip mall, if you will. The walk is home to this non-stuffy parlor of a pastry shop, a place to sit on an antique sofa and nibble at the first three items, old-fashioned treats made from the recipes of Elizabeth “Betty” Hinton, whose daughter and granddaughter run the place. Pop in after noon to pick up a snack—but call ahead if you require a freshly baked apple brown betty.

Love the deserts!! Absolutely love them...however I must agree the service could be much better!! Im not a racist, so I dont mean for this to come off as a racist statement But since its a black owned and operated business I would like to see more employees of color working there. But the treats are awesome and I will still support!!

Yesterday while hunting down a quick bite to eat we stumbled upon Brown Betty's Boutique. I had just read the article promoting them in Oprah's Mag. My kids ran in the shop, kissed the glass casing as they quickly focused on the gorgeous, big, chocol

I thougth that the service was horrible. The woman that was a cashier was really rude and impatient with me when i was trying to decide what to buy. The smell was wonderful that came from the bakery, but the service made me forget it. I left and didn
