Profile

Serenely situated in Gardner’s Basin, this double porch, Charleston-esque single house is the perfect antidote to casino-wrought overstimulation—and quite possibly the cutest eatery in town. This year, those already hip to this gem are psyched: For the first time ever, Back Bay will stay open all winter (with a brief respite from January until Valentine’s Day). Go now to settle into the cozy, bayview upstairs room and enclosed porch where liquid lunching is all too possible, what with the Flying Fish on tap and in the six-beer draft sampler, plus mason jars of signature drinks like Sex on the Bay or the Basin Mason margarita. But don’t miss noshing on exemplar pub favorites (Old Bay fries and the best buffalo chicken tenders we’ve ever had), minutes-off-the-boat seafood (get the sampler), satisfying steaks (bacon-wrapped filet, anyone?)—or staking out your table on the front porch for when spring comes.
