Alfred’s is South Jersey’s answer to Port Richmond’s Tacconelli’s. Alfred himself serves up perfect thin-crusted pizza (try the margherita-style or the sausage, pepperoni or onion) while crooning Louis Prima to his diners. A fun date with a bottle of BYO chianti.

I was hesitant when I found out Alfred's Tomato Pie was sold to the new owners.
I have to say, my fears were soon put to rest and the pie was wonderful!!
It would have been a perfect "10" if the tomatoes were just a little carmelized.
All in all, it isby far the best in NJ... Posted by Bob: Apr. April 27th, 2011 at 8:34 PM

Just read the disgruntled email about poor treatment from Alfred and wanted to let you know that as of June 1st, Alfreds Tomato Pie is under new ownership!! For all our existing customers, the pizza is exactly the same! Same great recipe, same great taste, come in and see for yourself! We ourselves have been happy customers of Alfreds Tomato Pie for five years and have worked closely with Alfred to get the recipe just right :) For anyone that has had poor past experiences (grayhorn!) come in and give it another shot!! We look forward to seeing, and pleasing, all our valued customers. Posted by Summer: Jun. June 2nd, 2010 at 11:31 AM

I recently had a show to play at Savage Rock School which is next to Alfred's Tomato Pie in Blackwood. Me and my girlfriend were looking to sit down outside and found two comfortable enough chairs outside the place. We were sitting, talking, and not smoking or spitting. Alfred comes out for a smoke and tells us (not asks) to leave. We get up but I ask politely why it is that we were asked to leave. He said because he owns the place and I wasn't a customer. I explained to him that I was confused on how one could be inside eating and be outside sitting on his chairs. He then said to stop being a smart a-- and to f---ing leave and go over where I belong. I don't think I'm missing out on anything and I hope this persuades at least one person not to come here. He had no respect for either of us and I didn't raise my voice, curse, or anything. He is a bitter old man and I advise you all not to go (or return) there. Posted by Tim: May. May 30th, 2010 at 1:35 AM

This place is a must go! Had heard about it from friends and tried it for myself... apparently, it's in the process of new ownership, but WOW! This pizza is wonderful! Now my favorite pie and I'll definitely go back for more! Loved the food, the pepperoni was to die for and the fresh mushrooms...mmmm! BYOB topped it off. Good music and friendly staff.
