Profile

Local restaurant kingpin Stephen Starr is behind this dimly lit, sexy tribute to Havana. Mojitos and the potent Alma Coladas define the moody lounge. In the dining room, expect modernized ceviches, entrees straight from the grill, and unexpected starches. At dessert, there’s cigars — chocolate cigars. The almond cake wrapped in mousse served with dulce de leche ice cream is a customer favorite.

We just went to Alma last week for a special occasion and given the reviews we'd read in the past had high hopes. We were very disappointed - waiter - went on and on and one, busboys - knocking over water and rushing to clear the table, missed bring all food ordered. Service - horrific, food only fair. We will NOT return.

The food is good, but if you are an authentic cuban like myself, then you know that Alma de Cuba has a few items that hit the mark, but others do not. They need reality check on what they call Cuban or new Cuban cusine.
