Another summer-perfect rose

Few summer specialties are as delightfully pleasing as a dry rosé. With the chilly refreshment of a white wine and the dark-fruit flavors of a red, hardly any other wine style enjoys such versatility.

The vibrant red-fruit flavors of Côtes-du-Rhône’s Belleruche rosé (Chairman’s Selection, $8.99) are reminiscent of summer berries — strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. With a faint white pepper accent and a mild tannic grip, this pink wine displays some meaty red character. Give it a try this weekend with everything summery, from shrimp to prosciutto, fresh tomatoes to white corn.
