Critic's Notebook: 10 Arts’ $10 Happy Hour

The usually high-priced 10 Arts offers up a terrific happy hour

Eric Ripert’s 10 Arts has taken heat from me and other Philly food writers because of its sky-high beverage prices. In all fairness, though, the place has a terrific happy hour. Monday through Friday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., bar flies can sip the restaurant’s signature elixirs for just $10 (regular price: $15). Trust me, these cocktails are worth sampling — many are made with the fresh fruit and herbal infusions we love. Try Gamble & Huff’s Cucumber Classic, mixed with Japanese cucumbers, Tanqueray No. 10, fresh lime juice and salt. That, and an order of 10 Arts’ addictive soft pretzel bites — the perfect happy hour nibble.
