What: The pub at the Plymouth Meeting Whole Foods. (Yes, drinking in a supermarket. Two cheers for progress!)

Date opened: January 12th.

The vibe: Cozy and earthen. Look for rooftop seating in the spring.

Beers: Six taps rotating with locally brewed ale; 320-ish bottles, most of the craft variety.

Drinking rule #1: Bottled beer can be bought to-go, but for the most part can’t be consumed in the cafe.

Wines: Two dozen by the glass and the bottle.

Drinking rule #2: Bottles of wine must be consumed in the cafe and can’t be taken out. Food: Pub fare with a healthy twist.

Deal alert: Pick up a growler for $3.99 and fill it with ale at decent prices—32 ounces of Yards ESA are only $3.99.

500 West Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting, 610-832-0010.
