Pretty much every Sunday when I was growing up in Norristown, my Italian grandmother would make a big pot of meatballs and gravy. Once we moved away to South Jersey, our meatball-eating decreased to once monthly, but no holiday was ever complete without a deep bowl of meatballs, right next to the turkey or ham. On Saturday, April 16th, Taproom on 19th and the Philly Mobile Food Association combine to celebrate spring with Tappin’ The Trucks, Brews n’ Bites Block Party. Five food trucks will head down to 19th and Ritner to sell food while Taproom on 19th pours $5 craft beers from local brewers.
The block party runs from noon and 7 p.m. with The Cow and the Curd, Oink and Moo BBQ, Foolish Waffles, Sweet Box, and Taproom’s neighbor and hoagie fryer, T&N Homemade Kitchen providing the food.

Suppa is celebrating its 2nd anniversary on Liberties Walk in Northern Liberties. The restaurant has some featured menu items from friends of the restaurant through the weekend, and on Sunday, they’re doing a pop-up across town at Taproom on 19th. The pop-up kicks off at 5 p.m. and will feature hot fried chicken sliders, roast pork cubanos and battered and fried brownies.
