Shake Shack’s 2nd Annual Winter Duathlon, hosted by the folks of Shack Track and Field, is headed our way February 18th, and you are going to want to reserve your spot right this second—trust us.
According to Shack Track and Field’s Facebook page, the event kicks off at 7:45 p.m. with a free Flywheel class in Center City. After getting your spin on, you’ll take a two-mile run to the University City Shack, where you’ll get your grub on—because hellooo, after all that spinning and running, you totally deserve some cheese fries. Oh, and did I mention your first drink is on them? I told you you were going to want to RSVP, stat.

The Shake Shack in University City is having an art contest and it works like this: from now until January 31st, anyone who feels touched by the cheeseburger muse can create an original work of Shake Shack inspired art, drop it off at the University City Shack (32nd and Chestnut) on any day of the week (and at any time except the lunch and dinner rushes, 11:30am-2pm and 6pm-8pm), and it’ll get hung on the walls.

So you guys know about the McRib, right? It’s some kind of mutant, boneless pork sandwich that McDonald’s releases on the world every now and then. People go nuts over it for a lot of reasons, but one of the big ones is that its not available all the time. It’s a limited release, and that makes the McRib special.
Shake Shack has been doing something similar for the past few months–putting their Shackmeister Burger (the first major, burger-based addition to their menu since 2012) onto menus in select locations, then pulling it off again, offering it as a special, then making it go away. But starting on January 1 of 2015, the Shackmeister (pictured above) is going to become a permanent addition to the menu of Shacks nationwide.
