Kite & Key alums Evan Clancy and Scott Pawlicky are a day away from opening the gates to Fountain Porter, their East Passyunk version of a good ol’ neighborhood bar.
The pair promises no pretension, just 20-taps of craft beers (no bottles or cans), a fully-stocked bar and good, affordable wine.

The East Passyunk neighborhood is getting another beer bar. Fountain Porter is replacing the now long vacant 1601 at 10th and Tasker. The web site, Facebook page and Twitter handle have all been set up and last night a Foobooz tipster spotted Fountain Porter neon lights in the windows of the corner bar.
Evan Clancy, who has been a Kite and Key bartender as well as manager at South Philadelphia Taproom is behind the project. He is joined in the project by fellow K&K bartender Scott Pawlicky. Kite & Key owner Jim Kirk also appears on the liquor license and will have an ownership stake in the new bar. The web site describes the bar as simply being a beer bar.
