The Public House’s nine-year run will end after service on July 5th. Public House Investments, its parent company is replacing the bar with another of its concepts, City Tap House. Like the University City location of City Tap House, the Logan Square location will of course focus on beer with an extensive draft system as well as collection of foreign and domestic bottles. The new location will include forty beer taps plus two cask engines.
City Tap House Logan Square is aiming to open in September with a look combining industrial with rustic. Like the original, reclaimed lumber with steel and copper accents will set the tone. The bar will offer a large 18′ x 9′ video wall plus large windows that can fully open when the weather permits.
The dining room will seat 170 and the bar will have 44 seats. The menu will be developed with the help of chefs Chad Vetter (City Tap House) and Marc Plessis (Pennsylvania 6).

City Tap House is wrapping everything in Bespoke bacon for happy hour. Sometimes the best ideas are the easiest. And oh yes, there will be beer from Yards, including their collaborative Just Off Walnut Belgian Brown Ale.
Also in West Philadelphia, Fiume is tapping Freigeist Ottekolong, a Kölsch too Kölsch for Köln.
Across town, Don Russell (Joe Sixpack) is going to be at Victoria's Freehouse where he'll be pouring ELGOOD’S Coolship #1.
Yards Brewing is on an exclusive beer kick. Last week they debuted Sons of Ben Rowdy Style Ale. A beer dedicated to Philadelphia Union’s supporters club. And over at Morgan’s Pier, they’ve just begun pouring Yards Petty’s Island Ale, a nitro cream ale brewed for the outdoor bar with summer-day drinking in mind.
And tomorrow, City Tap House is debuting their exclusive Yards Brewing collaboration, Just Off Walnut. This beer is a Belgian Brown Ale brewed with a De Koninck yeast strain, leaving a fruity nose and spicy crisp finish. City Tap House managing partner Andy Farrell and Yards brewmaster Tim Roberts went back in forth in creating an accessible beer that is light and easy but sophisticated enough for the beer snob as well.
