Philadelphia Distilling, makers of Bluecoat American Dry Gin, and Capogiro Gelato are teaming up for several collaboration gelato flavors. Now through Labor Day, all five Capogiro locations, along with Old City’s Capofitto will be serving Bluecoat + Blueberries. The gelato features Lancaster blueberries, and of course Philadelphia Distilling’s signature gin.
Stay tuned for more flavors like Penn 1681 + Cucumber and others. But here’s the big question: Just what gelato would you pair with Bay Vodka?
Follow Capogiro's Instagram feed to stay in the loop.
Yesterday, Capogiro won zoning approval for their proposed cafe in Old City. The cafe will be on the first floor of 233 Chestnut Street, next to the Independence Park Hotel. The new cafe (which might be called Capofitto) will have a bar and of course, gelato.
Earlier, Michael Klein reported that the space will have a wood-fired oven and food inspired by owners’ regular trips to Italy.
Though the summer heat has subsided somewhat, our desire for all things frozen has not. So why not satisfy your cravings this Sunday, August 4, at the Creme de la Creme Ice Cream Bonanza.
Part of the recurring Brooklyn Flea at The Piazza at Schmidt’s, and accompanying the 2nd Street Festival, this weekend’s event will include four top Philly vendors: Bassett’s, Capogiro, Lil’ Pop Shop, and Little Baby’s, as well as two out-of-towners, The Bent Spoon from Princeton and Alchemy Creamery from Brooklyn. Vendors will feature a variety of flavors, plus vegan and gluten-free options. Alchemy Creamery is all dairy-free and gluten-free all the time anyway, and Little Baby’s will provide both regular and vegan selections, because that’s just how they roll.
