It is tough to choose the single most spectacular detail about this Newtown Square estate, what with the renowned architect, the gourmet kitchen, the apartment-sized master suite and multiple laundry “centres.” The most unusual detail, though, is glaringly obvious: the dog shower. Perhaps when you’ve already got three full and two partial human bathrooms but you have 7,700 finished square feet to fill, adding a shower for your dogs is just the logical next step.
The home, which was designed by architect Ann Capron and is being privately offered by posh Hunter Reed, has been finished to what they describe as “the level of an Architectural Digest home.” Which clearly translates to room after room of handsomely finished spaces each outlined with perfect woodwork and plenty of Miele, Viking, Ralph Lauren, and Grohe brand-dropping to go around.
Casa Pacifica–a 12,000-square-foot wonder once featured on Homes of the Rich–is the melting pot of mansions. The exterior has Spanish tile “reminiscent of Mediterranean and Latin American architecture.” The bathroom and kitchen are Delfty. A shapely, ceiling-high fireplace says Santa Fe, while a wide hallway is paved with German limestone. The Rathskeller “identifies the European roots of the first owner.” Antique French terra cotta tile graces other floors. Most importantly, the extravagant indoor pool (is there any other kind?) was inspired by the Ritz in Paris.
Here’s an update on a home we featured during our day of luxury real estate: a Newtown Square estate with a pool and pool house, tennis courts, green house, a bar, a solarium, and that underground shooting range, among other standouts.
But according to Zillow’s property history, there has been a conflicting strategy that’s taken the price from $10,495,000 to $16,495,000 and back again since May of this year. Here’s another swing of that pendulum. Interesting. For those who are interested, now’s the time. Hurry!
To start, this estate’s wine room is significantly bigger than some studio apartments we’ve seen. And sure, many a manse features a bar and a library and and an opulent, dark-wood, leather-bedecked study. But this one also includes its own solarium and underground shooting range.
The property also features eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms as well as a billiards room and tennis courts. The pool behind the flagstone verandah is opulent enough that one wonders when Tracy Lord will appear with her model of the True Love.

If ever there were two people who know how to remake a space, it’s Scott and Peggy Brehman. Scott is co-owner of B&H Investment Properties, which has built and/or renovated more than 35 properties in the last 14 years. He has a particular facility with the challenges of historical buildings, including his personal home. Peggy owns Aubusson Home, a fabric and trimming store, so design, color choices and aesthetics come naturally to her.
Some of the most interesting adapted features of the above kitchen, according to Peggy: More →
