Though Sarah Pierce and Faiz Ahmad both claim to have Type A personalities, they didn't rush the planning of their wedding after their January engagement. And so when, in July, when the Horticulture Center—which had the natural, outdoor, intimate feeling Sarah imaged for their celebration—had an open date for Halloween weekend, they snatched it up. One vendor choice led to another, and everything fell into place—save for a freak wedding-day snowstorm. Sarah just laughed, pulled on her Hunter boots, and enjoyed the day as 225 of their nearest and dearest danced well into the night.
Faiz’s aunt had Sarah’s traditional Indian
gharara and Faiz’s traditional
sherwani for the ceremony designed in the family’s hometown of Patna in India.
