Last week we went on a bit of a historical kick with Farmhouse Friday, highlighting a farm from the early 20th century. We continue that this week with a quaint home that was built in 1905 and used to be the post office and general store for West Brandywine Township.

Just seeing the exterior of this house brings to mind the feelings of old-time Americana that you would expect from a former general store. There’s a stone path leading up to the home, and in the back there’s a patio and a porch. The blue paneling of the house contrasts nicely with the white fence on the porch and the white steps and doorways.

Inside, the kitchen has hardwood floors, cabinets and an island. There’s also a “country” dining room and spacious family and living rooms. One other cool feature of this house is what it offers outside of its two main floors. There is a finished attic and a finished basement that can be converted into playrooms or extra bedrooms.
