Here Are the Best Philly Neighborhoods to Go Trick-or-Treating in 2015

Surprised?

Is Halloween on the verge of whithering away? We sure hope not! For one, Philadelphia is still considered by Zillow researchers to be one of the best cities to go trick-or-treating even if it – sad face – did fall a few spots from last year. Moreover, they know what Philly ‘hoods are the best to hit up on October 31st and we’re not about to let that info go to waste!

You ready? They are as follows:

  • Fairmount / Spring Garden
  • Chestnut Hill
  • Cedar Park
  • Mount Airy
  • Manayunk

Pretty much the same neighborhoods deemed the best last Halloween, but is that so surprising? Considering Zillow’s methodology for finding out which parts of the city will reap the most sweet rewards, we’d say not really:

Zillow researchers calculate the Trick-or-Treat Index using four different variables. They look at the Zillow Home Value Index, which shows the value of homes in single family residences. They also look at local crime data, how close each house is to its neighbor, and the age of the residents who live there. This data combines to give us the safest cities to trick or treat, where trick-or-treaters can get the best candy, in the least amount of time.

Given Philly’s changing nature, it’ll be interesting to what neighborhoods will soon start appearing on the list in Halloweens to come.

But hey, even if you’re no longer part of that spirited costume-laden contingent that goes around collecting a bevy of KitKats and Jolly Ranchers from neighbors, there’s still a multitude of other ways to be part of the festive holiday. Enjoy it, guys!
