This Malvern home was built new to look old. Historic barn beams were used in the great room, while the brick fireplace is a replica of one in Vickers, a historic building that dates back to at least the early 1800s. The home’s first floor master bedroom was created by Archer & Buchanan, a West Chester-based architectural firm well known for historic restorations. That room, according to the listing, features more old barn beams and wood, “antique iron hardware, cast iron fireplace mantle and classic rounded walls.”

The wine cellar (4,000-plus bottle capacity) has some old-school touches, like exposed brick pillars. But it clearly serves the current owners as a modern man cave as well. A room adjacent to the wine cellar has one wall made of cigar boxes and another made out of corks placed in a geometrically pleasing design. I guess this is where you stick the cigar smokers: in a giant humidor.

The home has plenty of windows and French doors through which to see a beautiful spring-fed pond, or you can sit outside on the wraparound deck or porch to watch the wildlife. If you don’t see any wildlife, well, the property also has carved wood animals. So use your imagination, okay?
