If you haven’t yet been, get to Waterfront Winterfest, a pop-up project from the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation that closes Jan. 5. Aside from hosting parties and events, Winterfest includes The Lodge, a George Sabatino-helmed snack bar built from shipping containers. The chef’s inventive menu sounds fantastic, according to our friends at Foobooz:

There’s also tounge-in-cheek versions of the processed goodness of rink fare. Instead of a hot pocket, there’s a similarly shaped pastry filled with braised greens, sweet potato and cranberry. In place of fries? Little round potato croquettes that you have the option of smothering in short rib, cheese, and a shower of scallions. These are all served up hot in the company of craft beers and other libations like spiked cider and boozy hot chocolate–mini marshmallows and all.

Of course, there’s plenty of skating on the BlueCross RiverRink too —  the city’s only public Olympic-sized outdoor ice rink. But isn’t skating more fun when when you know a cider is waiting at the end?
