Morning Headlines: Battle of the Barn in Easttown Township

Residents in Easttown Township will meet this week to continue the debate over the old Kennedy Barn at Waterloo and Berkley roads, which is slated for demolition by Bentley Homes, which has the property on the market. The fight has been going on for more than a year, but it doesn’t look good for those who want to preserve the barn; a demolition permit was issued three months ago. According to the Tredyffrin-Easttown Patch, “The building is currently an empty shell and would need extensive and expensive work to turn in to a home.” It’s also not a good sign that the asking price is only a million dollars.

Want to go to the Township Zoning Board hearing? Hit up Hilltop House (next to the Easttown Municipal Building on Beaumont Road) on Thursday at 7 p.m.

As for other headlines, well, we’re engaged in an ANYTHING BUT THE SHUTDOWN NEWS project. So here you go:
• Goldtex gives you AIDS? Philadelinquency says: “I’m guessing that’s going to be the next charge given by union protests over the GoldTex Apartments given that we’re now on to mold and Hazmat suits.”
• Philly Deals’ Joseph DiStefano gets this tidbit: “We would like to own more in Philadelphia. And we will, in the next 12 months.” Guess who?
• Blatstein on the Provence to the Philadelphia Business Journal: “This is a big project that could have a transformational impact. It offers a people a late-night Philly…It’s a dimension that doesn’t exist now.”
