    Stand-up words from Vick.

  • aub32

For everyone who has said Vick lacks the intangibles to lead this team, I hope that is never up for discussion going forward. I am not saying this makes him the starter, but it’s clear that he’s one of if not the leader of this team.

The QB competition just got a hell of a lot more interesting thanks to Cooper and his big (racist) mouth.

      • defroe

sometimes people say crap out of anger and when you involve alcohol people make dumb decisions they may not even remember the next day. we have all had these type of moments. im not white but just because he chose to use the word to offend someone else doesnt mean he is a complete racist. you qb said so himself. thats what happens when you combine alcohol white people and country music though lol

  • thefadd

as if Riley Cooper didn’t have enough white fans in philly…

  • Media Mike

    Some unsettle business:
    1) Cooper still hasn’t apologized to security professionals as a result of his actions. In addition the N-word issue, Cooper (and everybody else) needs to take a less insubordinate tone and set of behaviors when being told what to do by security. This applies to concerts, bars, etc.
    2) Kenny Chesney concerts have no redeeming qualities. N-word from Cooper, Confederate flag waiving fans, stealing Buffett’s summer act; it’s all garbage.

    • A Big Butt and a Smile

What’s with all the Kenny Chesney hate? LOL. It’s EVERYWHERE.

Damn. Way to step it up and be mature, Mike.

How tough is it for Vick that we life in the Twitter/Social media day and age? To have an idiotic brother is one thing, for the whole football world to see it is just awkward. Not blaming Vick for it, and he’s trying his best to show he’s a good man.

  • nicksaenz1

Sheridan’s an idiot. Initially i wouldn’t have been shocked if he were cut but the more I think about it it would be wrong. All the chances other guys get in any pro sports league, Hibbert’s homophobic comments for example, and Sheridan wants him gone? That was never going to happen. Suspension from team activities for a few days was the harshest he would have gotten.

    • theycallmerob

Heck, Josh Brent killed a teammate and Jerrah didn’t bat an eye

      • nicksaenz1

Ray Lewis “obstructed justice” (read: killed a man) and what’d the NFL do? Made him the poster boy and even handed him a ring as a send off.

  • Andy

You know Marcus is going to be coming to Mike asking for $1000 if anyone takes him up on it.

  • Yahaya

Not sure it was racism…you guys tend to get too carried away. One bad driven moment…for goodness sake take a chill pill

  • Yahaya

    Drunken moment I meant

  • joethomas215

Marcus really offered 1k to millionaires to hurt Cooper intentionally and lose more than that in fines and suspensions. Marcus is a joke, no wonder he washed out the league.

  • Benzino

I believe that Coop said this due to him being intoxicated which concerns me as why is he getting that drunk while trying to make this team. What he said was horrible but how he handled himself afterwards should be commended. He deserves whatever he gets and I hope he decides to make changes in his life so he doesn’t have another incident in the future.
If this somehow blows over, I sure wouldn’t want to be him this season and be asked to go over the middle knowing that he is now a target much like Vick since the dog incident. He’s a marked man and I am sure when he gets hit they will have very bad intentions. Keep your head down Coop when a pass comes your way, is my only advice to you.

This is why I admire Mike Vick the person!!! He has changed as a man and lead by example on a much larger scale then football. He has and will help people realize that you not only can change but make an incredible positive impact on the world. Some will never forgive him. I do! He has shown some amazing personal qualities.

  • morgan c

I don’t like Vick as a player, but damn, gotta respect him as a person after handling this the way he did. It’s crazy to think how much this guy has grown. He speaks naturally intelligently now, very thoughtful. Impressive stuff from Vick.

  • philly fan

Vick did an awesome job with this interview. Also, I believe if the media would let it go than everyone can move on.
