Clarification: No one will be selling organic babies on East Passyunk. Rather, entrepreneurs Angela and Shai Halperin will sell organic, sustainable and locally made products for babies. Their soon-to-open store, Cloth, was inspired by all the neighborhood babies the couple saw in cloth diapers–suggesting an area interest in earth-friendly goods.
If nothing else, Cloth will be a bold symbol of how the neighborhood continues to evolve. And if this is the same Shai Halperin who was in the Capitol Years and records as Sweet Lights, it’s also representative of how rockers change once they have babies. For one thing, they start to pay attention to diapers.
