Fishtown Neighbors Association Votes in Favor of Wynn Philadelphia

How about that–no NIMBY troubles yet for Steve Wynn in Fishtown. At an informational meeting of the Fishtown Neighbors Association last night at the First Presbyterian Church of Kensington, the members of the civic association voted 173-55 in support of Wynn Philadelphia, Wynn’s proposed hotel and casino on the Delaware waterfront.

Though the vote doesn’t carry any “legal” weight right now because Wynn Philadelphia has not received the hotly contested gaming license, it is an interesting indication that all of Wynn’s outreach efforts in the area–including those with FNA–have paid off.

Wynn Philadelphia continues to fill in the blanks about the project. In addition to the release of a new rendering, we now learn from that the resort will also include “a skating rink, a public amphitheater, waterfront dining, an ice cream shop, a dog park, and a 50-foot wide waterfront trail that wraps around the entire perimeter of the site.”

And what kind of Fishtowner wouldn’t want all that?
